Jawar Al Khaleej (JAK) proudly served as a Strategic Sponsor of the Iraqi Business Summit Port 2025 – “Iraq’s Gateway to Investment”, held at the new Al Faw Port on Wednesday, October 8, 2025.

Participating in an on-stage panel discussion, Dr. Baydaq Al Jazaeri, Chairman of JAK, reaffirmed the company’s long-standing dedication to Iraq and its continuing investments in the nation’s maritime infrastructure. He stated that “the current climate for investment in Iraq is positive,” encouraging global and regional business leaders to explore opportunities within the country’s fast-growing port and logistics sector.
Remarks by Eng. Baydaq Al Jazaeri, Chairman – Jawar Al Khaleej (JAK)
“Our partnership with the Iraqi Ports Authority is a long-term strategic collaboration dedicated to delivering specialized maritime services across multiple fronts. One of the most important aspects is the provision of advanced marine units responsible for the safe berthing and unberthing of vessels at port terminals.”
“Since the very beginning, we have been committed to introducing the latest technologies in the global maritime industry. More than 90 percent of our fleet is built by Damen Shipyards – the world’s leading shipbuilder – reflecting both our and the Iraqi Ports Authority’s vision to demonstrate that Iraq’s ports are ready to operate at world-class standards.”
“This sends a clear message to all investors and shipping lines that Iraq’s ports spare no effort in ensuring safety, reliability, and operational excellence. Our mission is to continuously enhance these services in full compliance with international maritime standards.”
“We also discussed earlier, in the presence of Dr. Farhan, the vision of making Al Faw Port a clean-energy environment. One of the proposals was to develop a complete fleet powered by sustainable energy sources to perform all marine operations. It is essential that this vision be embraced in Al Faw Port, especially as it is a new facility designed to operate under the highest international specifications. JAK has already started investing and moving in this direction.”
“The dream of Al Faw Port has finally become a reality. The presence of His Excellency the Minister today sends a powerful message to every investor and to the world — that the Iraqi government is serious about turning this vision into reality, and even beyond expectations. I am truly optimistic; the coming days will prove that this optimism is well-founded as Iraq moves toward greater opportunities.”
