JAK and Liebherr Introduce Middle East’s First Electric-Powered Crawler Crane

17th May 2024 – In a groundbreaking event following the manufacturing process, Vice Chairman Mr. Duraid Al Jazaeri proudly received the keys to a brand new Liebherr LR 1250.1 Unplugged, marking another milestone in the Middle East. The handover ceremony took place at Liebherr’s crane factory in Nenzing, Vorarlberg, Austria.

Liebherr, a renowned German industrial powerhouse, has a rich history of innovation and excellence spanning over 75 years. Known for producing a wide array of technical and industrial products and components, Liebherr introduced the world to the first mobile tower crane, the first European hydraulic excavator, and the first hydraulic crane, setting a high standard for quality and innovation.

The LR 1250.1 Unplugged is the first electric-powered crawler crane in the Middle East, representing a significant step forward in green energy technology. Driven by an electric engine with a system performance of 255 kW, it delivers 342 horsepower. This newly designed 250-tonne class crawler crane features a reinforced main boom for improved lifting capacities. Its sophisticated jack-up and self-assembly system allows for fast set-up. The intelligent crane control system guarantees extremely precise load handling, even on sites with restricted views.
